OpenAI Is Close to Launching an AI Agent Codenamed “Operator”

Programmer Tibor Blaho discovered hidden features in the macOS desktop version of ChatGPT that could be used to activate this agent.

According to his data, “Operator” is not always stable, showing 38.1% performance on the OSWorld benchmark, which is below the human score (72.4%) but higher than that of Anthropic’s competitor.

At the same time, the agent outperforms humans in website navigation and demonstrates strong safety results by preventing illegal actions and personal data leaks.
