Kimi K2

Kimi K2 is Moonshot AI’s flagship artificial intelligence model, created for complex reasoning, programming, and acting as an “agent” that plans and executes chains of actions on its own. It is based on a Mixture-of-Experts architecture: the model has around 1 trillion parameters, of which about 32 billion are active for each request, delivering a combination of power and efficiency. Kimi K2 supports very long context handling (up to 128K–256K tokens depending on the configuration and API), so it works equally confidently with both large documents and complex multi-step tasks. Technically, Kimi K2 is an MoE model with hundreds of experts (384 experts), trained on ~15.5 trillion tokens using the Muon/MuonClip optimizer for stable and efficient training. It demonstrates state-of-the-art results in programming, mathematical and logical reasoning, as well as in tasks involving agentic scenarios and tool calling.
