Description of Optimism
Optimism is a major Ethereum Layer 2 built on Optimistic Rollups. It batches many transactions together and periodically settles them to Ethereum, inheriting L1 security while dramatically lowering transaction costs and increasing throughput for DeFi, gaming, NFT, and general dApp use cases.
Optimism offers full EVM compatibility, a mature developer stack, and a large ecosystem that includes Uniswap, Synthetix, Velodrome, and many other established applications. It is also a core part of the broader Superchain vision built on the OP Stack.
