FREEBLOCK / CRYPTO WALLETS
Custodial wallet
development
A wallet for a service that manages user accounts and transaction signing. We design the ledger, key management and operator tools around the entire journey from deposit to withdrawal.
Start with your users, assets and custody model.
01 / YOUR PRODUCT
When the operator needs control
Custodial wallet development fits products where the operator handles recovery, internal transfers and customer support.
Fintech products
Balances, deposits, conversion and withdrawals in one account. We define how user balances correspond to actual assets.
Exchanges and payment services
Deposits, ledger entries, fees and withdrawal controls, with explicit interfaces to trading or payment systems.
Existing wallets
We review the code, accounting and access model, then plan improvements or migration with balance and history reconciliation.
02 / DELIVERY SCOPE
An MVP that completes the funds flow
The first release must handle every state of an operation. The launch requirements determine the initial networks and features.
-
User accounts
Registration, sessions, additional access checks and recovery.
-
Deposits and balances
Addresses or payment details, incoming transaction detection, confirmation states and balance updates.
-
Transfers and withdrawals
Internal operations, fees, limits, approvals and duplicate execution protection.
-
Operator dashboard
User and transaction lookup, staff roles, activity logs and exception handling.
-
Launch and operations
Reconciliation, monitoring, documentation, source code and incident procedures.
03 / DESIGN DECISIONS
Three decisions shape the architecture
- Who signs transactions
- Define signing boundaries, staff access, backups and recovery. Evaluate HSM, MPC and other options against the threat model and budget.
- Where funds are recorded
- Separate available user balances, reserved amounts and on-chain assets. Plan reconciliation and recovery after failures.
- How exceptions are handled
- Network delays, duplicate requests, provider outages and suspended withdrawals each need an explicit state and a recovery path.

Checks included in the plan
Custody gives the operator responsibility for managing assets. We define customer and transaction controls with your team and relevant specialist advisers.
- A repeated request cannot execute the same transfer twice.
- Insufficient balances and concurrent operations follow consistent rules.
- Operators can perform only the actions allowed by their roles.
- Network failures do not lose transaction state or break reconciliation.
06 / COST AND TIMING
An estimate for your scope
First we define the initial release, integrations and acceptance criteria. Then we estimate delivery phases and identify external service costs separately.
Assets and networks
Chains, tokens, deposit methods and external infrastructure.
Controls and recovery
Signing, limits, roles, approvals and loss-of-access scenarios.
Product features
Web or mobile, swaps, integrations and operator tooling.
07 / TECHNOLOGY
Tools for your product architecture
We select tools and networks after agreeing on the workflows. These catalogues show our available capabilities; your project gets a specific agreed stack.

08 / FAQ
Before we start
How does this differ from general wallet development?
The main work is the ledger, signing controls and service-side operations. The user interface is designed together with the infrastructure and operator tools.
Can we use a key management provider?
Yes, if its networks, permissions, restrictions and operating terms fit your product. We compare provider integration with self-managed infrastructure and identify external costs separately.
Does every transfer happen on-chain?
It depends on the product. Transfers between internal accounts may be ledger entries, while deposits and withdrawals happen on-chain. We explicitly design reservations and reconciliation.
Do we need all blockchains at launch?
We select initial networks for your target assets and operations. Additional chains become separate delivery stages after their infrastructure and transaction behaviour are assessed.
Can you migrate an existing service?
Migration depends on access to data and signing infrastructure. We start with a review, migration plan, balance reconciliation and a recovery procedure.
How do we get a cost estimate?
Share the users, assets, networks and mandatory operations. We break down architecture, interfaces, integrations, testing and launch, then estimate the agreed scope.
