DBRX

Description of DBRX

DBRX is an open large language model from Databricks and the MosaicML team, built on the Mixture-of-Experts architecture and designed for enterprise use cases, complex programming, and analytical tasks. The model has 132B parameters, with 36B actively used per token, was trained on 12T tokens of text and code, and supports up to a 32K token context. At the time of release, DBRX outperformed other leading open-source models such as LLaMA 2, Mixtral, and Grok on a range of benchmarks—language understanding, programming, and math—making it one of the strongest open LLMs for real products. Technically, DBRX is a decoder-only transformer model with a finely tuned MoE architecture: 16 experts, of which 4 are selected for each request, which provides 65x more expert combinations and makes it possible to combine high quality with cost and speed efficiency. It uses RoPE positioning, GLU, and GQA attention, and the model itself is available as DBRX Base and DBRX Instruct under the Databricks Open Model License. Based on DBRX, you can build enterprise assistants and chatbots, RAG systems on top of internal knowledge, powerful copilot solutions for developers and analysts, intelligent interfaces inside SaaS products, as well as platforms for code, documentation, financial, and technical research—both in the Databricks cloud and in your own infrastructure. The FreeBlock team takes on the full DBRX implementation cycle: architecture design, model fine-tuning on your data, RAG pipeline setup and integration with CRM, ERP, DWH, and analytics, as well as on-prem or cloud deployment. If you want to build powerful enterprise AI services based on DBRX, order AI project development with this model from FreeBlock.
